God's Blessings Plan is a registered 501c3 charitable nonprofit organization that focuses on Community Development to those most vulnerable in the community.
Our mission is to exhibit Godly love and compassion to children and families through encouragement, words of blessings, economic empowerment and by providing basic necessities. We provide Financial Literacy Programs, food, toys for children during the holidays, blessings bags filled with toiletries, coats, back to school supplies, diapers, wipes, menstrual products and disaster relief. Our vision is to be a beacon of light, hope and equality for the underserved and underrepresented throughout the world.
We are an organization that shows the love of Christ to all that cross our path and provide a judgement free zone to demonstrate the love of God and others. We strive to embody 1 John 3:17-18 "If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion - how can God's love be in that person? Dear children, let's not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions."
Our services are open to all people, no matter their religious background, and we do not push any religious point of view on anyone. The way we interact with those around us speak louder than words ever could.
Simply put, the love of God was the catalyst in starting God's Blessings Plan. Our founder would walk by various people in need of her help each day as she rushed back and forth to work. Riding the train wrapped up in her own world, rushing to pick up her child from daycare, she became generally hardened to what has become a "normal" part of living in a metropolitan area.
Over the course of many weeks, during her daily rushed commute, she prayed to God to show her how He wanted her to help. She didn't want to give money to possibly give aid in destructive coping mechanisms, but she couldn't bear to keep walking past all of God's children that He loves so dearly, as though they didn't even exist. She looked up one day during her walk to work and finally her eyes were opened. She saw a homeless man lying on the sidewalk, feeding the pigeons out of the little bit of bread he had. It was a moment that stopped her in her tracks. How can this man, who has so little, be so willing to share his food in such an unselfish way while she was too scared to even look him in the eye? God showed her in that moment anyone can help those around them if their heart is open and willing to love, the action will follow if we just trust Him.
"Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don't have." -2 Corinthians 8:12
